Biography

Morna Josefine Lockie was born on April 11, 1989 in Edinburgh, Scotland; raised bilingual by her Swiss mother Scottish-Dutch father. The number of siblings ultimately grew from her and her older brother,to two additional, beloved, younger sisters.

Lockie attended a Rudolf Steiner School in Stourbridge from the age of 4 to 17, with one year out to sample the state system by means of Edgecliff School in Kinver (age 12-13).

Her family moved to Stourbridge, England, in 1993 where they relocated to various parts of the town through to her young adult hood. She remained in Stourbridge although she briefly moved to Birmingham when she was 22, for six months, after which returning again to Stourbridge.

Lockie studied Art, German, Psychology and English Literature and Language at King Edward IV College. Deciding to follow Art, Lockie completed an Art Foundation course at Longlands Art College in Stourbridge after which she embarked on a degree in Fine Art at Birmingham City University.

Work experience began at a young age (10/11) Lockie would help tidy people's houses and entertain the children until she was old enough to supervise them alone; various domestic and babysitting jobs ensued as well as waitressing jobs.

At 18 Lockie began bar work and from then on, steadily maintained roles as waitress or bartender including several months work in the Swiss Italian Alps in summer holidays.

On completing her degree in Fine Art, Lockie has been studying a PGCE in Art and Design.

Lockie hopes to study an MA in Art, continuing education and her art practice.
